When it comes to settling in to parenthood, once the early postnatal phase has passed, it can still be overwhelming. Baby seems to develop so fast! You have so many questions and often nobody to ask...

This stage is one of many firsts with baby, as they start to interact more with the world. It is so fun seeing them interact with with world. But the well-meaning, but often poor parenting advice from strangers and family members doesn't stop and their expectations for baby's development and your parenting seems ridiculous.

I’ve been there. And let me tell you, it was talking those unsolicited comments, raising my questions and concerns through with those who are experiencing the same journey, at the same time, that makes all the difference.

Nobody is on your same path, but there is magic in a group of people coming together to support one another. Finding a class where you are welcomed each week, where wins and milestones are celebrated by everybody as if it was one big family, and there's a genuine sincerity to the words "how has your week been" is so special.

You CAN parent your own way. With confidence and knowledge. Feeling in control (at least some of the time!) and having fun with your little one. You CAN feel at home in a class where everybody comes together to cheer everyone else on (and up!).

You can rock parenting, even if the going gets tough.

Wrigglers Baby Yoga Welwyn Hatfield

Our colourful, bright and lively baby yoga, sensory and music class suitable from approx. 4 months until first steps. A unique class, perfect for baby AND grown up – both are equally important!

Developed from 10 years experience teaching baby yoga and baby sensory classes. This class is designed to be great fun, whilst
encouraging the development of hand and eye co-ordination, fine and gross motor skills, speech, listening, visual development, play and laughter.

Each Baby yoga class centres around baby yoga routines, helping baby to improve co-ordination to aid their physical development, body awareness and brain development.

Our highly trained yoga teacher will take you through fun baby yoga songs and routines, helping baby to stretch, relax and have lots of fun. Gentle baby yoga stretching has a host of benefits for baby and each class will go through all of these benefits for each move.

Babies enjoy plenty of opportunity for free play in our social baby time, to discover the sensory theme for the week, based on our collaboration with Usborne Books, using their popular “That’s Not My…” series (including bubbles, lights, balls, scarves, ribbons and so much more!).

There will be opportunity for baby to play in their own way, to interact with all the other babies and of course for adults to chat too. There is always time for education on infant development, feeding queries, sleep and any other concerns. This friendly class draws on peer support alongside highly trained teachers.

Our classes run in Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City – perfect for those in Stevenage, Knebworth, Hatfield, Wheathampstead, Brookmans Park or Potters Bar.

What's covered in our Baby Yoga and Sensory classes?

01

Movement

Baby loves movement, and it's great for their development. It's quite an active class where we bounce and move baby around, and have fun. We move them around with some fun sociable games.

We also spend time on your postnatal movement too. Easing out tense muscles and helping you feel more relaxed and refreshed.

02

Baby Yoga

Every class includes a dedicated baby yoga segment, with songs, rhymes and lots of silly fun routines. Our yoga is based on songs and nursery rhymes so it's easy to remember and lots of fun.

We build up the yoga and do include inversions (going upside-down) but we NEVER put any pressure on anybody to do anything!

03

Sensory play

We have many different sensory activities that we do each class.
A focal point in every class is our “What’s in the box?!” section where babies discover our theme for the week and we begin our sensory journey.

From tracking, to listening, movement to touch. Using all the senses with props, and bubbles, shakers, scarves, parachute fabric, music and cuddles. We sing, rock, move listen to the babies.

04

Social time and postnatal support

Every class has a chance to check in with everyone, to see how everyone's week has gone and answer questions. It's a great class to get support from everyone around you. We chat at the beginning and celebrate any milestones or good things about the week. We share advice and commiserate the difficult times. This makes friendships, and going out for lunch after and chatting in the WhatsApp group as an important part of the class experience.

05

Infant education and support

Jilly, the class teacher, has many baby development qualifications and will guide you through a different topic each week. From growth spurts, to starting solids, from babywearing to tummy time, from sleep to physical and mental development. There will also be topics on physical and mental postnatal recovery, getting back to work, nursery settling (or choosing a nursery). Any topic that's important to you will be discussed.

Client Feedback

I have made some fab friends. We have a WhatsApp group where we share all the great, gross, up and downs of parenting. As well as just being friends who are there for each other when we need it. It’s been an awesome place for us all to make new and lifelong friendships. Without Jilly, I don’t think that would of happened."

Stacey - Baby Yoga and Sensory classes, Welwyn Hatfield

Jilly is so lovely and friendly and also very professional and runs well-paced classes. Jilly is gifted at creating a warm, welcoming environment so that you get to know the other women and/or babies. Unlike other baby classes, these classes allow you time to share milestones, worries and seek support at the same time as having lots of fun with your baby and a laugh with the other parents."

Nadene - Baby Yoga and Sensory classes Welwyn Hatfield

There is plenty of opportunity to talk with other mums during the class too. Jilly is amazing at what she does and has such a nurturing and natural manner with the babies. I would definitely recommend!"

Why Choose CubCare for your Baby Yoga and Sensory classes?

I’m Jilly, founder of CubCare. I know the power of a good, supportive baby class. I have created Wrigglers Baby Yoga to incorporate the best there is to offer in Welwyn Hatfield.

I came into this business after not finding a support network locally when I had my first baby. I had to travel to another town to find a class that was friendly, supportive and fun. Where everybody was an equal and not already in an established group of friends - or at least receptive to adding to their group!

I discovered how amazing it is to combine parent support and baby classes together. To fulfil the needs of parents and babies in one magical class.

What I learned is that when we focus on providing unconditional support for our clients, those clients provide that support to each other; and this cycle continues. And changes lives. I dress the classes up as a baby yoga and sensory class, but honestly, they are something incredibly special. And that is down to you, the clients.

FAQs

When can I attend/How old does baby need to be?

Babies can attend from around 3-4 months or when they are confidently rolling (either is fine) until they taking their first steps. Our bigger class will then be suitable from this point. We run in short terms, alongside the school term times, but if there is space you are able to join at any point. Attending for a period of at least 6 weeks is recommended to build your support network and give you a solid bank of songs and activities to continue with your baby at home. You are welcome to continue to attend longer than 6 weeks too, as the class offers so much in terms of support and knowledge. Most people do 4 or 5 terms, depending on their baby.

Can I bring twins/multiples?

Yes absolutely! Twins and multiples are always welcome and there is no extra cost. If you wish to bring another adult then please let the teacher know when booking, as some classes have limited space. Otherwise the teacher can adapt activities, or work with you if desired.

Can I bring my partner/mum/friend?

Absolutely! We completely understand it's a lovely thing to enjoy a baby class with family and friends. I just ask that you let me know first so that I can ensure there's space and that there isn't an issue with anybody in the class needing privacy. I also ask that it is a maximum of one person joining you.

What happens if we need to miss a class?

We totally understand that things happen and you may need to miss a class. If we know about it at the time of booking they we may be able to offer a credit towards the next term of class.

If it is a last minute thing then we may be able to offer a space in a different class subject to space.

It is likely though, that spaces will be full, and in that event then unfortunately there is no way to make up the missed class. You will have access to the WhatsApp group and still benefit from all of the online and in person support.

What do I need to wear/bring?

For You

  • Comfy clothing that you would wear to be active in. For example leggings and a t-shirt/vest. Jeans can be a little restrictive.

  • Something comfortable for baby to lie on (a blanket or a yoga mat)

  • A bottle of water

For Baby

  • Comfy clothing that they can move around in – ideally a separate top and bottoms to allow for easy access for massage

  • Feeding/Changing supplies

Is this course good for making local "mummy" friends?

Absolutely! It is the most sociable and friendly class you will go to. The course is a very laid back and friendly place to be, with plenty of time for discussions, getting to know others and forming connections. Connecting others is a large part of the course and each group will have a WhatsApp group set up, and Jilly will recommend places for lunch or a coffee after the class. You will also get an exclusive booking opportunity to book in for further terms of baby classes to extend your social group even further.
