A high energy activity class from first steps to around 3 years old.
Focusing on developing physical skills and creativity through fun activities and exploration.
• You're looking for a fun class for your child to let off steam in a fun and structured way.
• You're looking for a class that incorporates activities that build coordination, strength, and gross motor skills through play.
• You want your child to have fun while interacting with other children in a stimulating environment.
I’ve been there. And let me tell you, it was talking those unsolicited comments, raising my questions and concerns through with those who are experiencing the same journey, at the same time, that makes all the difference.
Nobody is on your same path, but there is magic in a group of people coming together to support one another. Finding a class where you are welcomed each week, where wins and milestones are celebrated by everybody as if it was one big family. Where support is given without question, and there's a genuine sincerity to the words "how has your week been".
You CAN parent your own way. With confidence and knowledge. Feeling in control (at least some of the time!) and having fun with your little one. You CAN feel at home in a class where everybody comes together to cheer everyone else on (and up!).
You can rock parenting through the toddler years.
Our fun, friendly and high energy activity class from first steps to around 3 years old. Focusing on developing physical skills and creativity through fun activities and exploration.
Developed from 10 years experience teaching baby yoga and baby sensory classes. This class is designed to be great fun, whilst encouraging the development of hand and eye co-ordination, fine and gross motor skills, speech, listening, visual development, play and laughter.
Each week we’ll focus on a new physical skill using different props and activities. This engages little ones in challenging activities giving them the opportunity to practice their physical and creative skills whilst having fun.
The class is a perfect balance of unstructured exploration of the activity stations and leader led activities. Guided by parents/caregiver and helped by Jilly, the class leader, each child will be able to explore in their own way.
The toddlers can enjoy plenty of opportunity for free play at our physical movement stations including play tunnels, sensory stepping stones, balance beams, wobble boards, bean bag throwing, ball bouncing and more.
Our classes run in Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City – perfect for those in Stevenage, Knebworth, Hatfield, Wheathampstead, Brookmans Park or Potters Bar.
01
Movement
Movement is the heart of Active Play classes! From crawling through tunnels to balancing on stepping stones, and toddler yoga, children will develop essential gross motor skills like coordination, strength, and agility.
These classes aren't just about burning off energy, though. Movement also plays a role in brain development, helping children with spatial awareness, body control, and following directions. Through active play, CubCare fosters a love for movement that will set your child up for a lifetime of healthy habits.
02
Sensory play
We incorporate a variety of textures, sounds, and colours to engage all of your child's senses. Whether it's feeling the soft squish of a beanbag in their hand or on their hear, the different textures and heights of our stepping stones, or the crinkle of colourful parachute fabric, these sensory experiences stimulate curiosity and brain development. As children explore different textures, they learn to distinguish between them, refining their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The playful sounds of music and shakers add another layer of engagement, encouraging a love for rhythm and creativity. It all helps to build a strong foundation for learning and discovery.
03
Learning through fun
Every game and activity is cleverly designed to sneak in valuable lessons while your child is having a blast. Building a block tower teaches them about shapes, and balance. Singing songs fosters language development and social interaction. Even crawling through a tunnel helps with problem-solving and spatial awareness. CubCare's unique approach to learning through fun ensures that children are actively engaged, building a strong foundation for future learning – all while having a smile on their face!
04
Confidence building
We begin each session with free play time, allowing toddlers to explore the room and warm up to their surroundings at their own pace. This free play allows them to build a sense of security and become comfortable with the environment and other children. We focus on encouragement, celebrating each accomplishment, big or small. Whether it's mastering a new throwing skill or joining in with a group song, these successes nurture a sense of "I can do it!" that builds lasting confidence. CubCare Active Play empowers toddlers to step outside their comfort zone, embrace challenges, and discover their own unique abilities.
I have made some fab friends. We have a WhatsApp group where we share all the great, gross, up and downs of parenting. As well as just being friends who are there for each other when we need it. It’s been an awesome place for us all to make new and lifelong friendships. Without Jilly, I don’t think that would of happened."

Stacey - Baby Yoga and Sensory classes, Welwyn Hatfield
Jilly is so lovely and friendly and also very professional and runs well-paced classes. Jilly is gifted at creating a warm, welcoming environment so that you get to know the other women and/or babies. Unlike other baby classes, these classes allow you time to share milestones, worries and seek support at the same time as having lots of fun with your baby and a laugh with the other parents."

Nadene - Baby Yoga and Sensory classes Welwyn Hatfield
There is plenty of opportunity to talk with other mums during the class too. Jilly is amazing at what she does and has such a nurturing and natural manner with the babies. I would definitely recommend!"
Sarah - Baby Yoga and Sensory classes Welwyn Hatfield
I’m Jilly, founder of CubCare. I know the power of a supportive and fun toddler class. I have created CubCare Active Play to incorporate the best there is to offer in Welwyn Hatfield.
I came into this business after not finding a support network locally when I had my first baby. I had to travel to another town to find a class that was friendly, supportive and fun. Where everybody was an equal and not already in an established group of friends - or at least receptive to adding to their group!
I created Active Play because I know how amazing it is to have a class where things don't feel rushed, you and your child are remembered each week and not just a number on a register. To have the teacher remember their likes and dislikes and encourage their development.
To hear the children re-creating the class at home, or getting excited pulling into the car park, giving me a high five at the beginning and end of every class, telling me stories about their week - it is the best feeling to be a happy part of their lives.
Each 1 hour session will include songs, toddler yoga, whole body movement (balancing, jumping, throwing),
sensory play and lots of celebration and fun!
The class is 9-30-10.30 on a Friday at Howlands Baptist Church, Welwyn Garden City.
Term dates:
June Term – runs Friday 7th June – Friday 12th July (no class 21st June)
Summer Special Classes! – August Term – runs Friday August 9th – Friday August 30th
September Term – runs Friday September 13th – Friday October 18th
If there is space in the class you are welcome to book a trial class if required.
From each class you can expect:
* Physical activities to promote gross muscle control and skill development, as well as coordination
* Physical movement stations including play tunnels, sensory stepping stones, balance beams,
wobble boards, bean bag throwing, ball bouncing and more
* Listening and concentration activities to aid language development and patience
* Child initiated as well as leader led activities to promote turn taking, sharing, cooperation and independence
* Colour, number and simple letter recognition through the use of games, songs and activities
* Bubbles!
* Parachute games
* A sticker at the end to say well done!
* Those of you who have attended our Wrigglers classes will be very familiar with our “What’s In The Box” element of class
– the familiarity continues each week but with a difference!
Toddler active play and sensory classes in Welwyn Hatfield take place at Howlands Baptist Church, The Commons, Welwyn Garden City. Toddler active play and sensory classes are perfect for for those in Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Stevenage, St Albans, Wheathampstead, and Knebworth.
Toddlers can attend form their first steps until around age 3.
We run in short terms, alongside the school term times, but if there is space you are able to join at any point. Attending for a period of at least 6 weeks is recommended to build your support network and give you a solid bank of songs and activities to continue with your baby at home. You are welcome to continue to attend longer than 6 weeks too, as the class offers so much in terms of support and knowledge. Most people continue with multiple terms throughout their toddlerhood.
Yes absolutely! Twins and multiples are always welcome and there is no extra cost. If you wish to bring another adult then please let the teacher know when booking, as some classes have limited space. Otherwise the teacher can adapt activities, or work with you if desired.
Yes absolutely! We love to have all caregivers in classes and strive to make everyone feel completely welcome. If someone is joining as an additional participant then I appreciate a quick text to ask as space is tight in some venues. Otherwise, if they are happy to come then I’m more than happy to have them!
We totally understand that things happen and you may need to miss a class. If we know about it at the time of booking they we may be able to offer a credit towards the next term of class.
If it is a last minute thing then we may be able to offer a space in a different class subject to space.
It is likely though, that spaces will be full, and in that event then unfortunately there is no way to make up the missed class. You will have access to the WhatsApp group and still benefit from all of the online and in person support.

Toddlers will benefit tremendously from attending weekly, from the familiar routine, to helping to build friendships and connections. Plus caregiver benefits hugely from this too. We are experienced in getting to know each individual’s favourite ways of learning and can tailor the class to those who attend regularly.
