You want the absolute best for your baby don’t you?

If you’re anything like me, you’ll want the absolute best for your baby. And maybe you massively underestimated the amount of information you’d need to take in during pregnancy. How every decision can have a big impact. Maybe you’re feeling the weight of responsibility as you look ahead?

From which foods to avoid, to which side you should sleep on. There’s essential knowledge for every stage, and it can sometimes feel like you are just expected to know the answers!

As overwhelming as it might seem right now, birth is exactly the same. I know you want to prepare as best you can. To know about about every option and challange that could be thrown your way.

By now, you’ve probably heard someone say, “why plan for birth when it never goes to plan?” Let me tell you why this is never a sensible idea…

Yes, birth rarely goes “to plan”. You may have never been in this situation before, and baby certainly hasn’t!

I know that it’s the births where things go “off-plan” that you need to know your options more than ever!

I know this because I’ve been there. And let me tell you, having a plan in place, even if it does go “off-plan”, was the single biggest factor in having a positive experience.

Nobody can predict what will happen when you are in labour – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

But, you CAN face baby’s birth day with knowledge, feeling in control and with several pain-busting strategies under your belt. So you can rock your birth, even if the going gets tough.

Jilly, thank you so much for everything you taught during your Antenatal Course. It honestly made a huge difference to how positive my birth was. My partner was so supportive and prepared thanks to your CubCare Antenatal classes. I felt completely in control for the entire 26 hour labour – I just felt so calm, the breaths were incredible and the consultant commented on how she couldn’t believe I’d refused an epidural. I felt confident enough to question and on occasion challenge recommendations of the midwives so that the birth ended up being as natural as possible!

A very positive experience to look back on. Thank you!!

Stephanie - Antenatal Classes, Welwyn Hatfield. Birthing at Lister Hospital.

We met Jilly at our parenting class which was amazing and made me feel so confident with my birth plan.
I had opted for elective c-section but I did not know anything about the options for my birth plan such as optimal cord clamping and skin to skin. Jilly helped me to understand my choices so that I felt empowered when having my gorgeous little girl. I was adamant I wanted to breastfeed which I found very challenging and emotional at first. The information my partner and I took from the classes helps us through this journey. We understood the important of harvesting colostrum due to my milk coming in later with c-section. My partner and I also knew the latch wasn’t right and knew where to ask for help. I am now exclusively breastfeeding, something I didn’t think I would be able to do in the first couple of months.
Our baby had bad wind and would scream for hours in the evening. The information Jilly gave us got us through those times. My partner and I would take it in turns using methods Jilly taught us until she settled.
What a brill class and a truly amazing birth experience which I will remember as the best day of my life forever.

Birth is something we can feel calm and confident about.

This groundbreaking Antenatal Course will teach you everything you need to know, to feel confident and completely prepared for any eventuality.

You can attend some sessions with your birth partner, but what makes this course so special is that you’ll also get opportunity to attend our movement and relaxation classes on your own. These are a vital part of our approach, and really help to build your confidence.

Do you want to go towards the birth of your baby with a fantastic understanding of your body and the way birth works?

Do you want to be fully prepared for every eventuality, including induction and c-sections, and understand your recovery, and baby’s early days?

Do you want to enjoy some blissful movement and relaxation, helping you to look forward to birth with confidence?

It all starts with understanding the process. And that starts with your hormones.

When you feel stressed, anxious or out of control, your body produces a cocktail of hormones which slows down the production of oxytocin. Oxytcocin is needed to make your contractions longer and stronger, so it’s not something you want to be slowing down!

Our CubCare Antenatal Course covers everything you need to know about hypnobirthing. And hypnobirthing will teach you how to keep any feelings of stress, anxiety or loss of control to a minimum!

Why Choose CubCare?

I’m Jilly, founder of CubCare. I know the power of good antenatal education, and I have created this course to incorporate the best there is to offer.

I came into this business after a difficult birth experience with my first, and wanted to find a different way for any future babies I had.

I discovered how amazing it is to combine hypnobirthing and body mechanics science.  Safe to say, my second birth experience was a world away from my first – and one I still smile about now, 7 years on!

What I learned is that when you do proper research ahead of time and put together a properly informed birth plan, when you understand the birth process and how to work with your body, when you have a whole bunch of tricks up your sleeve for coping with labour sensations…you can turn any birth journey into a positive one.

FAQs about our CubCare Antenatal Course – with Hypnobirthing and Active Birth

What week should I start antenatal classes?

Traditionally, antenatal classes would ideally start from 30-32 weeks pregnant. However we work differently in that we believe it is never to early to get educated and learn how to navigate the antenatal system, as well as dealing with the birth.  Hypnobirthing class Welwyn, Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

We welcome everyone to our Antenatal Classes from around 25 weeks (you are welcome earlier!) to allow you plenty of time to learn everything there is to know, to put the techniques into practice. To support your confident birth.

But it is never too late either, so join us whenever you are ready.  Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

Classes are a wonderful opportunity to meet others who are also pregnant and start your journey with a support network already in place.

What is Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing uses science of hormones, the brain and how your body responds to danger, to create a set of tools and techniques to help make things easier.

Hypnobirthing can be used alongside all the drugs, like gas and air and epidural, to help create a more positive birth experience.

Hypnobirthing birthing compasses antenatal education, self-hypnosis, relaxation, massage and breathing techniques to help release any fear or tension you may have around birthing your baby.

Hypnobirthing can also be used alongside any birth to keep you as calm and relaxed as possible. For births such as:

  • C-sections (elective or emergency)

  • Inductions

  • Twin / multiple births

  • VBAC births (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean)

  • Breech births

  • Assisted deliveries

  • Home births

  • Water births

What is Active Birth?

Active Birth is a series of instinctive behaviours that a birthing person, and the baby will go through to make space, to change position and to be born.

While it is instinct, the need to move and change position during birth; our social conditioning and lack of seeing this happen means that there is often distrust in our bodies. Or a disbelief that it is possible to have a positive birth experience.

Read more about the benefits of Active Birth here.

Our Antenatal Classes will give you all the body mechanics and anatomy knowledge you need to undertand why certain movements and positions are so good before and during birth. But with our weekly classes, you’ll also be able to put them to regular practice.

What is Active Hypnobirthing?

Active Hypnobirthing puts Active Birth and Hypnobirthing together. Allowing you to prepare your body for birth during pregnancy, and during labour; whilst using hypnobirthing techniques.

Many hypnobirthing courses, books or downloads will teach techniques such as breathing and relaxation, but if baby is in a tricky position, or if there is tightness in your body making contractions more difficult then everything can go out the window.

Active Hypnobirthing works to help you get to know and understand your body, how it works for birth, how your baby works for birth and how you can put everything together.

Active Hypnobirthing techniques really can also be used alongside any birth to keep you as calm and relaxed as possible. It might surprise you but active hypnobirthing is helpful even for births such as:

  • C-sections (elective or emergency)

  • Inductions

  • Twin / multiple births

  • VBAC births (Vaginal Birth After Caesarean)

  • Breech births

  • Assisted deliveries

  • Home births

  • Water births

Are these classes similar to NCT or Bump and Baby Club?

In short, no. On the face of it? Yes.

Our Antenatal Course offers so much more than any alternative provider – most commonly the NCT or Bump and Baby Club.

Our CubCare Active Hypnobirthing Antenatal Course has been developed from 10 years experience in the field. I am experienced in antenatal education, movement education, postnatal education and babywearing education.

I draw upon my experience and strengths to provide clients with tools and techniques they will be able to use pre labour, during labour and after birth.

We cover, in real depth, hypnobirthing, active birth, and more medical aspects of birth too. Nothing is an afterthought or an add on. A CubCare Antenatal Course will make sure you know everything there is to know.

Our course hours are actual taught hours. And I believe that your time is valuable and your money should be spent on education and empowerment. Although I can promise good snacks and time to form bonds and friendships!

There is ongoing support from Jilly (not a faceless person from the customer service department). And I have full, local NHS service knowledge. I work closely with local midwives and the NHS Maternity service at both Lister and Barnet hospitals.

Do I really need antenatal classes?

Yes, absolutely. It is so important to attend antenatal classes, to learn about what to expect and ways to manage the experience. CubCare antenatal classes will help you prepare for the birth of your baby and help provide you with confidence and education.   Hypnobirthing class Welwyn, Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

Your will remember your baby’s birth day for a very long time, and it will have a big impact on your early parenting journey. By attending antenatal classes you can learn about your choices and give you the best start to the journey.  Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

I am planning a caesarean birth is this class still worth it?

Yes absolutely! The movement and relaxation can help you during pregnancy to ease discomfort and help prepare your mindset for birth. Our movements can help with baby’s positioning, which can help with the cesearean operation and aid recovery too. Plus also the breathing and relaxation techniques will be very useful in the build up to the operation, to ease anxiety and nerves, to help with any pain afterwards and whilst recovering.  Hypnobirthing class Welwyn, Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

Plus, depending on the reason why a caesarean might be the best option for you, there may be a chance that your baby has other ideas before the date. So, having prepared for all eventualities you will be calmer and feeling more in control of the situation.  Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

Also, classes are a wonderful opportunity to meet others who are also pregnant and start your journey with a support network already in place.

Check out this blog post for more c-section tips.

Can I bring my partner?

Partners are more than welcome to attend the weekend sessions and two of the Tuesday evening sessions.

There are 4 sessions designed for mum-to-be/pregnant person only.

These ones are just for the pregnant person which makes them a very special place. It means you can ask all your questions, share anything you want and know you are in a safe space.

Plus you can fully relax into the class, as you don’t need to worry about anyone else’s partner seeing you with your bottom in the air doing your pelvic floor exercises!  Hypnobirthing class Welwyn, Hypnobirthing class Welwyn

Is this course good for making local "mummy" friends?

By nature, a group course for a set due date range will allow you to meet other expectant parents who are due around a similar time to you.

The course is a very laid back and friendly place to be, with plenty of time for discussions, getting to know others and forming connections. But this is not the main aim of the course. It is a beautiful by-product, but the main aim is to learn about birth, caring for baby and early parenting.

Connecting others is a large part of the course and each group will have a Whatsapp group set up, there will be a lunch organised after the second weekend session, and an organised postnatal reunion  after all the babies have been born.

You will also get an exclusive booking opportunity to book into our postnatal courses and baby classes to extend your social group even further.

You like the sound of the course but you’re worried about the cost?

I totally understand! It’s a big investment. But birth and the early weeks with your baby will honestly change your life forever. Are you and your baby worth the investment to have the best start possible?

I do offer payment plans, check them out below.

Concerned that your birth partner isn’t fully on board? That’s totally normal!

The course is really down to earth, full of facts, evidence and science. It’ll give them the confidence to support you fully, and not feel like a helpless bystander.

Check out this feedback from a previous course attendee:

“Adrian said that everything you taught in the Antenatal Course came in really handy. He knew the stages I was going through and he knew how to deal with me and help me through it.”

If you still need to pursuade them, check out my birth partner guide below.

Unsure about taking a course if you’ve already been told to expect an induction/c-section?

Everything you learn will be so useful for navigating a more medical journey. And the techniques are suitable (and really helpful) for all situations.

I’ve been teaching for 9 years now, I have seen thousands of different stories – and there is something to help you, whatever your birth may look like.
